Coming out of the colder months of winter (December through February) and jumping right into Spring, there is a lot to look forward to. The waters are warming; the marine life react and express excitement as they move closer to the shoreline in search for easy hatched prey. The beaches are majestic and quiet, awaiting the first large flows of vacationers left absent the past couple months. Locals gear up for incredible new events and activities awaiting the season with open arms. Yes...Spring is in full bloom and we are all excited for what awaits us in this new year. Life is picture perfect this time of year. The water is beginning to clear from the rainy months and life that had traveled south for the winter is returning with the same level of excitement as the thousands of snowbirds up north still awaiting the thaw of spring to come to their cold bones.
It's the first Thursday of the summer, there is an expectation in the air of amazing things to come. The crowds gather throughout the day at live outdoor concerts and food trucks lined up awaiting hungry guests for a fun filled night to come. The clock shows 8:45pm and a trace of sparks shoot through the sky like a flaming arrow followed by the explosive boom of the firework that was set off letting everything know of the show about to come. 9:00pm is finally upon us, the boats in the harbor are lining the shorelines and the pass by the hundreds as the night sky erupts in fire and sparks as thousands peer from boats, docks, restaurants and homes at the amazing spectacle that will go on every Thursday and Tuesday throughout the summer. It's only just begun...it's about to get even better. The water, perfect in temperature and clarity for swimming, paddle-boarding and snorkeling and all of life celebrates together in one uniform expression of excitement as we gather together to celebrate life together along our amazing Emerald Coastline.
Fall & Winter
The season has been a success and with bellies full, skin tan and smiles on everyone's faces, we can all sit a little taller and relax knowing that was one fun summer. The locals are the most excited for what is to come. The beaches rest from the volume of people that kissed its shorelines with their bare skin. The locals are reminded of how beautiful the beaches are as there are fewer and fewer people to interrupt the tranquility that can only be found in a quiet place. As things slow down though, there are still amazing events and activities to look forward to. Fall festivals, seafood festivals, boat shows and the occasional firework shows shot off every night we can find a legitimate excuse to watch them. Fall is a magical time to enjoy with your families and our favorite time of the year for sure. Lets not forget the Holiday season. From Thanksgiving lighting of the Christmas Tree in Destin Commons to the extravagant New Years Parades and firework shows, Destin is an unforgettable place to come and celebrate the Holidays with all of your friends and family.
